Tasting Notes

Crafted to celebrate 20 years of winemaking at Airfield Estates, this limited-edition red blend (composed of 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and 33% Syrah) is bold, expressive, and beautifully balanced. Aromas of blackberry jam, dark cassis, cherry cola, and ripe plum are framed by subtle notes of smoked fig, mocha, orange oil, and seared sandalwood. On the palate, it delivers a rich, full-bodied texture with polished tannins and impressive depth. The finish is long and lingering, showcasing dark fruit and elegant toasted French oak.

Vintage Notes

The 2024 growing season in Washington was cooler than previous years, resulting in wines of remarkable elegance and freshness. A mild spring and temperate summer allowed for slow, even ripening, preserving vibrant acidity and enhancing complexity. Reds from this vintage offer exceptional depth, dark berry fruit, and refined structure—balanced for both early enjoyment and long-term aging.

Winemaking Notes

Sourced from reserve-tier blocks of our estate vineyard, this wine reflects our commitment to precision from vine to bottle. Grapes were harvested at peak ripeness, gently destemmed, and optically sorted. They were then fermented in small stainless steel and concrete vessels to enhance depth, texture, and aromatic purity. Aged for eight months in premium French oak (75% new), with lees stirring to build richness and mouthfeel, the final blend showcases the most expressive lots of the vintage—a wine of elegance, structure, and long-term potential.
