Loads of tropical fruit, apples, and butterscotch swirl all around... There's a nice blast of frontal acidity and some late notes of toasted almonds with food-friendly tartness in the finish.

Chardonnay
2006
• 90 points, Wine Enthusiast
Airfield Estates 2006 Chardonnay. Creamy with a smooth streak of rich butterscotch, this is avery appealing wine that seems to gather strength as it slides through themouth. It hits a whopping 15.3% alcohol, and yet retains a silky feel and anice mix of peach, apricot and papaya fruits. It just goes on and on, almostlike a dessert wine, without the sugar.
Foot-Stomped Syrah Rosé
2007
• Excellent, Wine Press Northwest (Spring 2009)

It's loaded with raspberries, plums and soft cherry flavors. It's finished dry, but there's plenty of fruit and balance to lend it to a hamburger or ribs.

Cabernet Sauvignon
2006 Reserve
• Excellent, Wine Press Northwest (Spring 2009)
winepressnw.com
Only seven of 25 barrels made the cut for this reserve, and the notes run from raspberry to cherry character with pleasing herbal tones. It's fruity and bright on the entry with tamed alcohol levels but warmed up by rich, big, chocolate tannins on the back end.

A twist of the screwcap allows the cherries, almonds, and chocolate in the nose to touch down on the palate. The frontal entry of fruit is impressive with cherries and blueberries, and silky milk chocolate tannins keep the structure from rattling before the farewell of coffee.

Aviator Red
2005
• Wine of the Week, Wine Press Northwest (March 11, 2008)
winepressnw.com
This blend of Syrah (40%), Merlot (35%) and Cabernet Sauvignon comes across as a complete wine. Black fruit compote, cola, French vanilla bean, a drizzle of chocolate and spicy cherries only begin to describe the approach. Bold plums and cola on the entry are met in midpalate by tannins that are sturdy without being over the top. No doubt this screwcapped release, piloted by Marcus Miller, is taking off in the tasting room. Rated “Outstanding" by Wine Press Northwest magazine.
