2007 "Thunderbolt" – Sauvignon Blanc/ Semillon Blend

At Airfield, we pay tribute to our rich aviation heritage through our Aviation Series of Wines. These estate grown blends exemplify the terroir of our vineyards. Hard work and Mother Nature come together to bring you wines of depth and complexity.

This crisp, refreshing white wine is a blend of 73% Sauvignon Blanc and 27% Semillon. It exudes trademark Sauvignon Blanc characteristics of gooseberry, passion fruit, and a touch of grassiness and is enhanced by richness in mouth-feel and texture provided by the Semillon. Try this with Greek and Caesar salads, crab cakes, artichoke dip, and sushi.

2007 Unoaked Chardonnay

This Chardonnay showcases ripe citrus and tropical fruit which carry through to a crisp, dry finish. This fruit-forward wine is delightful on its own or pairs nicely with pork and seafood dishes.

2006 Chardonnay

This barrel fermented Chardonnay exhibits great palate weight and complexity. It possesses aromatics of butterscotch, apples, and pears. It is an excellent food wine, and pairs nicely with alfredo, veal, and mild cheeses.

2007 Foot-Stomped Syrah Rosé

At Airfield Estates, we get our customers involved. Each year, during the second weekend in October, we have an annual foot stomping harvest celebration. This year Syrah grapes were foot stomped by adventurous wine drinkers. They jumped in harvest bins, rolled up their jeans, and got to work. If you have never experienced wine grapes between your toes, it is truly a one of a kind experience.

This dry, medium-bodied Syrah Rosé imparts aromas and flavors of Bing Cherries and rhubarb. This wine should be served chilled and pairs with grilled salmon, saffron steamed mussels, and garlic and oil based sauces.

2006 Merlot

NV Cabernet Sauvignon

This non-vintage Cabernet Sauvignon is 45% 2005 Cabernet, 45% 2006 Cabernet, and 10% 2005 Syrah. The fruit is sourced from eighteen-year-old vines located within close proximity to the old runway. This dignified wine consists of ample dark berry aromas, refined tannin structure, and subtle oak influence contributing to a soft mouth feel.

This full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 18 months in American Oak. It offers aromas and flavors of dark berry, tea leaf, tobacco, and sandalwood. It pairs well with most red meats and robust cheeses.

2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This rich, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 18 months in French Oak. With immense palate depth, this wine encompasses aromas of boysenberry and violet and deep flavors of boysenberry, black currant, and black tea. It pairs well with most red meats and robust cheeses.

2005 Aviator Red

This red blend consists of 40% Syrah, 35% Merlot, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was crafted to exhibit sophistication, balance, and integration of fruit. It forms a synergy of complex berry aromas and well-structured oak tannins. It pairs well with pasta, grilled steak, hard cheeses, and dark chocolate.

2006 Reserve Syrah

The utmost care was taken in the vineyard to help produce this premium wine. It displays an ink black color with dark fruit and floral notes that swirl around amidst smoky flavors from being aged in new Hungarian oak barrels for nine months.

2006 Riesling Ice Wine

Harvest occurred during an early November freeze when temperatures reached 12 degrees Fahrenheit. With 16% residual sugar, this wine pairs perfectly well with fresh fruit, vanilla ice cream, and warm apple pie!
